WIAW: Weekend highlights

Hello and a very happy WIAW to you! Hope you’re having a fantastic day and haven’t been too affected by the weather. I had a fun experience of being hit by rain, hail, rain yesterday, then was swept clean off my feet while carrying our recycling down the stairs this morning.

I’m sorry to have been absent recently, life has been a bit stressful and fraught – I simply couldn’t fit blogging into the mix.

On that note, I don’t have a full day of eats recorded so instead, you have a his ‘n’ hers look at the weekend. That’s right, James’ plates make some guest appearances down to how blooming delicious they looked (yes I did have food envy and I think you may too)!

I’ll be back tomorrow with a… GIVEAWAY you definitely won’t want to miss so keep your eyes peeled. But for today, let’s get to it!

  1. Yay glad you’re back again! Damn your weekend looks awesome – that first picture makes me think of an almond butter volcano – I love it!! When in England my usual handbag staples are a couple of Nakd bars but I’m struggling to find anything like that in Argentina so tend to go for the typical squished banana… Classy.

  2. I rarely get food envy if Ben has something different to me, mainly because it’s either pizza with stupid amounts of cheddar on (which I detest) or pasta (which I also detest) with stupid amounts of cheddar on. Or tuna mayonnaise sandwiches – not fussed with! I have to say, I’d go for James’ gammon meal definitely and the pancakes with bacon. Yum.
Handbag staples are always apples if I go anywhere. You can never guarantee you can buy apples!! ;-)

  3. well those raw brownies look drool worthy. like a lot.

  4. I never get food envy, as if Nick is eating something different (rare) it will be meat/dairy based and not appealing to me in the slightest!! I love the look of your pancakes, especially with all the almond butter. Nice bargain on the brownies too!

  5. All I want right now is banana pancakes ;) That bridge looks gorgeous! I don’t usually get food envy for my boyfriend’s plate because he loves meat and I don’t. HOWEVER, when he’s eating a dish that I would consider to be particularly decadent and it’s something I love but don’t want to waste the Calories on, YES I get food envy haha.

  6. I love those Pulsin bars- hardly anywhere sells them though and I am on my last one!
I don’t get food envy as Andy eats meat which I don’t like, or he eats the same as me, which I do like (but don’t have envy as I have it too!).

  7. My handbag food staples are nakd bars, every time! I have also been carrying bags of Metcalfs Popcorn with me too. Those raw brownie bars are so good, you’ve got me craving them!

When I get food envy for my husband’s food I take a bite or two. He likes to share – His family has a thing where if they really like a food they try to get other people to take a bite.

  9. Food envy… YES. Haha, but no other half, just everyone else in the universe ;)

Hahaha. James’s pancakes seriously look pro. I’m impressed every single time I see them. Now I’m envious that you have someone to make you fabulous pancakes. Ha.

Those raw brownies sound marvelous. Great find! Hope you had a great weekend Claire!
