Why can’t everyone be as awesome as you guys? I love how positive, supportive and encouraging this blogging community is.
What perplexes me is that being a woman (or guy though I have no experience of that!) is hard enough when it comes to accepting body image. Everyone has insecurities – whether physical or emotional – surely we should be in this together and work to crush those negative thoughts rather than encouraging them?
Your comments mean so much to me and are v appreciated. I am confident and happy but I’d be lying if I said I was completely bulletproof and nasty comments had no impact whatsoever.
I was also sorry to hear that some of you have experienced similar in the past – next time Mo will be ready and waiting to launch a serious hamster attack on your behalf!
He might look innocent but that paw is ready for some swiping!
Now Mo has that covered, let’s talk about the exciting fact that it is Friday! I’m so looking forward to a lovely chilled weekend, this week has been quite stressful for James and I so it will be nice to relax.
I think we may also take the opportunity to get out our winter wardrobes and get start wrapping up! Has anyone else felt the sudden drop in temperature? Yesterday we went out to the shops in the evening and I was freezing – I wore a hat for the first time in ages.
And my beloved North Face coat with the fleece lining zipped in, nothing like feeling snug. There’s been another upside to the cold – we’re starting to feel a little festive and have been indulging in the goodies the supermarkets are filled with (ok, they have been since July but now I feel justified to buy them!)
I know technically we should have waited for Halloween before going straight for the Winter foods but we couldn’t hold off!
Festive Friends biscuits! James has been loving these recently, I’m sad and like to see what is on every one! I used to love Animals as a kid.
I’m obsessed with bottle green cordials and this raspberry and grapefruit is yum! They’ve brought out a spiced berry one too, bet it would be gorgeous hot.
I love the snow on the logo of the pretzels! My favourite treat used to be sandwiching avocado between two pretzels. Salty, creamy and crunchy perfection!
Iced fruit slices are the bomb. I always go for ones where the first ingredient is fruit, makes them feel more saintly! You can’t beat proper homemade fruit slices but these come a close second.
Still obsessed with this raw chocolate and still crossing my fingers it becomes available outside Bristol so you can see why I rave about it so much!
Chilli and Inca Berry is my favourite flavour so far.
I love these raw brownies, the mint is gorgeous and crunchy but also chewy. I may have taken this to work as a boost on a testing day!
I walked six miles the other day just to buy these bars. I think that tells you all you need to know!
Tues: Frame Rave Abs
Wed: Run 4 miles
Fri: Cross trainer 60 minutes
My workouts felt pretty good this week! I had an active weekend so rest was needed on Monday, especially as Tuesday’s workout was a lot more high impact than I was expecting! Have you tried the Frame Rave workouts? Sweaty Betty have put up a series of them online for free (click on the link about) and wow. I was a sweaty betty indeed!
Wednesday’s run was tough and slow but I was glad I went. You can’t beat that post-run feeling.
Yup, my run was sweaty too! Pilates was fab on Thursday then today’s cross trainer workout was killer! I played around with the resistance (hit Level 20 at one point.. wowzers it was hard) to get a strength workout for my arms and legs. I pretty much did 10 mins cardio, 10 mins strength for the 60 minutes, while reading my favourite magazines.
In non-workout feats, there was lots of animal magic!
Mo came out for a few cuddles (those pecans dipped in almond butter are working… I mean he’s naturally warming to us…), then on Wednesday, when I went home to see the osteopath, I had a few hours hanging with Harry-Dog.
I had to move my car and he jumped straight in the passenger seat. I couldn’t stop laughing at how serious he looked!
While I was at home, Mum convinced me to buy a proper pair of work shoes. I’ve cheekily been wearing TOMS but the miles I cover + kit do call for something more heavy duty..
They may not be the prettiest (my colleague burst out laughing yesterday and said I had “old lady feet”) but they honestly feel amazing! I went took them for a walk around Bristol’s harbourside after work yesterday and felt like I was walking on air.
The view wasn’t bad either
Have a fab weekend!!
