Happy Monday you lovely lot! The sun is shining, the new week is here and I’m ready to blast through it and everything that comes my way!
I’m putting my super positive attitude down to the fact I did this workout this morning. My limbs are still vibrating from all the jumping and planking but feel really good. Nice to mix things up one in a while!
Also, I woke up really early this morning to try and catch Mo before he went to bed. He has been antisocial recently and I wanted him to go off on holiday while I’m away in a clean cage. I managed to bribe him out of his bed with treats, then quickly changed his bedding while he angrily whizzed in his wheel.
He was placated when he returned to his cage to find a plethora of treats – and got stuck in straight away!
How could that not make me smile?
Here’s some more marvellous from the weekend:
Most of the day was spent preparing for my big trip tomorrow (eek!) so it felt really good to settle down with James into our usual routine of fajitas on Friday. We had extra veg in the fridge so only used one chicken breast – it was a great choice.
I actually wasn’t sure how courgette would go in fajitas but it was lovely! Meaty, succulent and absorbed lots of the spicy flavour. I had six of these gorgeously yummy delights then ate 200g of coyo to cool my mouth down. I felt a little over-coyoed (if there is such a thing) after but it definitely stopped the burn!
So many tears on Saturday! We woke up super early so I could drive James to the airport as he was off to Beijing! Normally I’m ok when one of us goes on a work trip but I had the full waterworks, I’m really going to miss him – especially with the big challenges coming my way this week.
A huge coffee with lots of crema and some coyo and raspberries helped cheer me up a little after doing this yoga before I started a full day of work. I don’t know if any of you work the weekend but at my job, you are on duty from 6pm Friday to 7.30am Monday, covering a large area of the country alone.
It involves reading an awful lot of papers, so I was excited when one came with a free perfume sample to spice things up!
I was sent on a job and managed to hit six hours of traffic on the motorway. Not the most pleasant, especially as the only thing on the radio was football as there were many matches going on. If anyone needs to know the scores, I’m a walking football encyclopaedia at the moment
And cake of course:
… and some snack bars on Lauren’s recommendation!
Dinner was some lovely salmon followed by lots of treats and trash TV.. well it would have been rude not to with the house to myself!
Another day at the coal face. I woke up super early and had the most gorgeous four mile run before calling in at 7.30am. My legs felt good and the last two miles were solid 8.29 minutes.
Deja vu breakfast but this time mixed berry coyo instead of pineapple. It tasted delicious with the fresh berries!
I was pretty much chained to my desk all day but managed to potter round the house and complete a few chores that must be done before I fly tomorrow. Tending to our salad patch was one such task.
The fruits of our labours! So many tomatoes, so little time to eat them all. They’re quite floral and this crop has a lot more flavour than the last.
I also enjoyed my favourite snack, using the last of my mixed nut butter and almond butter.
This plate times two for good measure!
You won’t guess what I had for dinner..
Ah the perils of cooking for one!
The day ended with the most gorgeous sunset, I couldn’t resist whipping out my camera to take a picture.
Hope you had the most fantastic weekend. Can’t wait to share my adventures in Berlin – today will be panicking and packing as my flight leaves early tomorrow morning! I’m also dropping Mo off, which means I get to hang out with my Mum and sister. Looking forward to it muchly.
Now to get through another day of work!
* Do you read the weekend papers?
* Am I the only one who gets very excited looking round supermarkets?
Sometimes it is the highlight of a trip for me!
