Friday, Friday, Friday!
I’ve been all about fruit and coffee today but feel surprisingly chipper now the end is approaching – lucky because we have an action packed weekend ahead! I don’t know whether it has been the rain, increasing the distance of my runs a little or holiday blues but I’ve been really tired this week.
Let’s crack on with what I’ve been getting up to!
Getting back into eating at a desk is hard! I hadn’t appreciated how lovely it is to sit, relax and enjoy a leisurely breakfast while flicking through a magazine.
I finally got round to trying apple cinnamon Chobani, which I paired with a peach. It was nice but not my absolute favourite flavour (cherry every time!).
Popcorn addict right here!
You cannot beat the sweet ‘n’ salty combo – I tried it in two brands
I felt like the Propercorn had more flavour and less popcorn, whereas the Metcalfe’s had less flavour and more popcorn. Both were yummy though!
James was out one night so I had a fun dinner – eaten with grown up cutlery of course.
Grilled salmon with spinach, seeds, tomatoes and cucumber. I absolutely adored this!
I’ve been trying to eat more during the day to stop any overeating at night and this lunch was a real winner! I had salad with chive, tomato and cucumber with spelt tortellini and balsamic dressing.
It was filling – but not too heavy for the middle of the day – and very satisfying. One to repeat for sure.
We drank so much coffee on holiday so I’ve been trying to alternative with herbal teas. I’d forgotten how much I love Women’s Energy Yogi Tea, especially the messages on the tag.
I love our espresso machine but I am actually missing the retro coffee machine at our holiday villa:
Have you ever used one of these? It makes the funniest gargling sound when the coffee filters through!
Seeds on salad are a must in our household and I can’t wait to try these munchy seeds for some sprinkling action
There was a lot of tapas on holiday and these gorgeous stuffed olives have helped us carry it on in Bristol. So yummy.
James bought me some coyo as a treat. I love the mixed berry flavour (though I’m tempted to try pineapple – any reviews?)
Everything must be in a lettuce burger at the moment. I’m so obsessed with them I’ve been dividing up my burgers to have multiple ones!
Another week of avoiding the gym and it feels pretty good! I loved the long run on Tuesday, trying up steadily increase my mileage ahead of the half marathon in September but not get injured at the same time.
Oh and Wednesday’s strength session? I’m really feeling it today so it was a good one!
Tuesday: Run 7 miles
Thursday: Run 4 miles
Friday: Level One Jillian Michael’s Yoga Meltdown, Kickboxing Cardio Interval Weight Training Workout with Denise Austin
In non-exercise news, our gardening skills yielded some tomatoes this week!
I can’t wait for more to ripen
And we’ve had even more success with shy hamster Mo.
Having a cuddle with James – he’s still so tiny!
I think he looks like Yoda in this picture with his pointy ears. This was an amazing moment, he ate a treat off my lap yesterday and didn’t freak out at all!
Returning to Bristol showed me how much I’d missed the Gromit Unleashed trail, so I got hunting for more!
What a Wind Up!
Vincent van Gromit (complete with mirrors to admire every angle!)
Can’t wait to track some more down over the weekend. Hope you have a great one too
