I know it is not yet December but I seem to be totally rubbish about ticking off items on bucket lists. I made one for Summer, which I didn’t post on here, and I think I managed less than half of it. So this time around I’m giving myself a few months and am determined to crack it!
Here’s what I want to do this season:
Visit a Christmas Market
You can’t get more festive than a Christmas Market but I always seem to walk past them! Not this year, I want to spend my time browsing through the items on offer, sip Gluhwein and enjoy some of the delicious foods on offer. There are some great markets near me – Bath is particuarly pretty.
Make festive treats from scratch
Last year I made delicious peppermint brownies and cookies and packaged them up in pretty bags to hand out to friends and family. They went down so well that I’m determined to recreate the magic this year. I want to think up something myself though – and of course I’ll let you know the recipe once it is perfected!
Love Christmas baking! Check out my dog, Harry, watching out for any stray crumbs!
Have first ever ‘red cup’ Starbucks
You read that right, I’ve never ever had a festive themed drink. Not from Starbucks, Costa, Coffee#1 – and all of those places do the most amazing concoctions. I usually stick to a boring black Americano but I am treating myself this year. Salted caramel latte at Costa? Gingerbread latte at Starbucks? I’m in!
Try a new exercise
This is on my bucket list every season. This Summer I tried Zumba and although I enjoyed it I didn’t go back. I’m keen to find something I do like this time around though. A local gym near me has started doing Kettlercise and I’m interested in giving it a go.
Go ice skating
I absolutely adore ice skating and I didn’t go last year, which is rubbish. I’ve walked past two great looking outdoor ice skating rinks in Bristol and want to go! You can’t beat skating with friends. I don’t mean to blow my own trumpet but I’m actually not bad at it either, I can even go backwards and do jumps. This cannot be missed!
Read a Christmas Carol
I wanted to read something festive and I think the last time I read Dickens was when I was in school. James has already ordered me the book so hopefully I’ll be able to give you good news on ticking it off soon!
Make paper chains
I love making paper chains, they are so pretty and addictive! We are planning to decorate our flat a little this Christmas (we don’t spend the actual day there) and so a few paper chains will make it feel very festive.
Book a holiday
This may be a bit of an odd thing for a bucket list but I am desperate to go on holiday and so need to get on and book one! Last year, we went to Hamburg and Berlin in November and it was great. I love Germany – the food, the culture and the scenery – and so I think our next trip will include something there. Hopefully I’ll be able to see my gorgeous friend Kat there too!
